A Broken Art was founded by Christy Ann Beguesse in
1996 in Rosarito Baja California, Mexico. After a 2 week
vacation in Puerto Vallarta, she moved the gallery/studio to
nearby Bucerias, Nayarit in 2005. “I love living in this sleepy
little village. The kick back attitude lends itself to creative sorts
like me, not to mention being surrounded by so much inspiration.
The Mexican way of life, the ocean and jungle along with the
colors of Mexico really feed my creative soul. After moving to Mexico in 1996,
I instantly fell in love with the ceramic tiles
produced in nearby Tecate, not to mention the Talavera Pottery
that also provides a great source for colorful works of mosaic.
I like to refer to my art as “touchable”, and I am always thrilled when
customers enter my studio and can’t resist “touching” the pieces,
which creates a true connection to the art”.
A Broken Art Mosaic Studio Specializes in Producing Unique Mosaic Works of Art.
Utilizing Handmade Mexican Tiles, Talavera Tile and Pottery, Hand Painted Glass,
Stained Glass, and Smalti. These Mosaics posses a Brilliance and Vibrancy of Color
found in no others. The Brightly Colored Tiles, Pottery and Glass bring Intensity
to the Intricate and Whimsical Custom Pieces that Warm the Soul,
Creatively bringing Your Dreams to Reality with Mosaics. The winter months are bustling with tourists from Canada and
the U.S. who are wondering about the studio while I am in the
garden plaza teaching workshops under the palm trees or beachfront.
The summer months are slow and allow me time to complete
commissions and research new methods and material in order to
maintain the standard of quality my customers are accustomed to.
I would like to extend an invitation to anyone who finds
themselves in our little part of paradise, around the corner from
Puerto Vallarta, to join us for a workshop, commission a custom piece of art or purchase one of the many pieces of art in our gallery.
A Broken Art is Located in The Bucerias Art Walk Plaza.
